What this app is for

This app shows what a typical month costs you.

It reads your bank and card statements, groups payments that repeat, and lets you say what each group is for.

What you'll need

About 12 months of statements for each current, savings and credit card account, saved as CSV files.

Download them from your bank's website. Look under statements or transactions, choose the dates, and pick CSV as the format.

Privacy

Everything stays in this browser on this computer. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere.

Backups are plain files and are not encrypted. Keep them somewhere safe.

The steps

1. Import each account.
2. Confirm transfers between your accounts.
3. Categorise the biggest buckets until the progress looks good enough.
4. Read your typical month.
5. Back up.
6. Later, import new statements and work through the rest.
